An online store is judged by its packaging

Packaging matters. It has to serve the purpose and impress a buyer.
What can one do to make sure packaging is perfect?

Label it
right

While labeling your package, get the name of the customer right. Is
it Ms or Mr? Make sure you spell the name right. It makes a terrible
first impression, getting the customer’s name misspelt. Get the
address right. If there is something else to be mentioned on the
shipping label, get that as well. Apart from this, get your address
and name printed right. And more importantly, state clearly what is
in the package. This holds good for most packages bought and sold
online. But there are certain times when you and the customer
wouldn’t want to state on the box, what’s on the package. It could be
lingerie, collectibles, medications etc. So, in that case, stay away
from labeling the box.

Round off
those edges

Don’t leave uncut, rough edges, staple
pins jutting around. They can cause injuries to your customers and to
shipping handlers. So, check the package finally to make sure it’s
smooth and hazard free.

Quality
counts in packaging also

Yes, cheap cardboard that crumbles to
bits on touch is a strict no no. Imagine the customer’s first thought
on seeing a crumbly package. He’d definitely not want to order from
you again if you give substandard packaging, however great your
product is.

Tape it right

If you don’t want shipping personnel to
poke into your package, tape it right. Make sure the product is
encased properly and can be opened properly when it reaches the
customer.
