DIM Pricing. Well that means we have got to reduce dimensions of
our packaging boxes in order to save on shipping costs. How does one
do that?
A shipping audit report can give you tonnes of information that
you can make use of, to reduce dimensions and hence reduce your
shipping costs. So, it would be a great first step if you audit your
most recent shipments.
Make sure the right dimensions are noted down.
To the minutest
detail. Else, you would be paying for what you shouldn’t be paying.
If you have custom shipping rules or standard, auto fill
information on sites, review them and see if they are indeed right.
As yourself these questions before you decide on anything with
regards to DIM Weight Pricing.
Are you using the right boxes? Do you have boxes that leave a lot
of space unused?
If yes, get smaller boxes. It makes sense in the long run to opt
for optimal sized boxes and do away with your over sized boxes.
Do you need boxes at all? Would Poly Mailers do?
Ploy mailers are wonderful if you ship things that do not really
require a box. Wires, certain electronics, clothes and accessories
can be shipped in poly mailers.
Overall, do you opt for the most optimally priced shipping
service? Work on this, if you don’t. Opting for express deliveries
when the recipient is a street away is the worst shipping mistake you
can commit. It is small details like this that make a difference.
